My first week of school went okay. My students were really glad to see me. They wrote me so many sweet notes. I felt lost for a few days, but I am getting back on track. We only have two days of school this week because of Thanksgiving break. I'm already looking forward to my days off.

Chase is still having a pretty rough time. He has a hard time in the morning getting ready for school. He seems to do better in the afternoon. I'm trying to keep him busy so he doesn't have a lot of alone time. He started basketball last week and he is excited about that. Please keep Chase in your thoughts and prayers. He was really close to Canon and this has been really tough on him. Kamryn is doing fine. She's just glad to have her mommy back!

I still feel so lost at times. I can be doing something and then all of a suddden reality hits me in the face. I can't believe Canon is not here! I feel him hugging me and patting me on my back like he always used to do. That little hand pat was always so sweet. I miss his hugs and kisses. He wasn't a touch feely child to other people, but he always was to me. Each day is getting a little better, but it is still so hard.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

Carla

Serious hugs to you all. As a mother my heartbreaks for you and poor Chase. (I have a Kamryn also) she can be a tough cookie too.

Carla,
I feel your pain and your loss. It will get easier with each day. I prayed for you on Thanksgiving that God would give you a peace.
Maybe you could get a special journal and write in it everyday about what it is like to miss Canon. It is very healing to do that everday.
I will continue to pray for you and your son as well that he would heal as well.

Oh, your words bring tears to my eyes. The thought of you feeling hugs and pats on the back from Canon still is what did it.

I'm glad to hear from you. I check back to see how you and your family are doing.

Your family remains in my prayers. I'll say an extra little prayer for Chase.

I hesitate to leave a comment, I can (and do) pray for you and your family daily without leaving a comment. Checking your blog is a part of my daily routine and I pray for God to hold you up right now and get you through each day. I'm just leaving this comment today in hopes that it brings you comfort to know that you remain in my prayers, and in the prayers of so many others who do not leave comments. Your story has touch so many of us who have never met you, but we love you and care deeply for you and Chase and Kamryn.

Your sister in Christ,
~Laura
